One of my paintings is called Divergence. That word probably applies to a lot of things in my life. I like variety and when there are a lot of options, it can be a little overwhelming. I know I need to choose a path, but if I go down one road, will I miss something important that would have presented itself on the other road? My travels are a bit like that...choosing where to go, what to experience can be a tough choice.

I chose to visit Cambodia, because the culture is so very different than ours. I also lived in Vietnam as a child and planned to visit Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. Cambodia was a just a hop, skip and jump away. My exposure to the culture, history and people of Cambodia inspired my painting, Cambodian Spirit. I chose a color palette that feels like the spirit of the people, warm, radiant, and down to earth.
