Twisted Sisters (or My Crying Onions), 12x12, Acrylic on Canvas

I planted shallots this spring. If you've ever grown shallots, you know you have to let them cure for a week or two after harvesting them. I left them outside in a basket for two weeks. Every time I looked into the basket, I couldn't help but think of these little onions as sisters with their stalks twisting and dancing around each other. This piece is painted on a thick profile, deep 2-inch gallery canvas.
